Life Sciences
Rosetta Commons REUFor students majoring in CS, engineering, mathematics, chemistry, biology and/or biophysics. While not required, seek candidates with some combination of research, C++/Python/*nix/databases, etc. Participate in research using Rosetta Commons software. Learn how to use algorithms for computational modeling and analysis of protein structures. End-of-program conference in the Cascade Mountains of Washington.

EPFL Summer ResearchUndergraduates from anywhere in the world can study life sciences and technology at any EPFL institute (Brain Mind Institute, Institute of Bioengineering, Global Health Institute, Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research).

UCSD Biomaterials REUTraining undergraduates in biomaterial-related engineering projects (e.g. tissue engineering, bio-inspired biomaterials, nanoparticles, etc.).

Materials Science and Chemistry
Center for Sustainable PolymersThis program is open to undergraduate students in science and engineering, preferably chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science. Two oral presentations will be given over video conference.

Northwestern MRSEC REUThis program encourages students with an interest in nanomaterials and majoring in a science or engineering field to apply. A technical paper and oral presentation will be given at the conclusion of the program. Other activities include field trips with your cohort.

University of Chicago MRC REUProgram for students working toward an undergraduate college degree program with a concentration in materials science. Seminars, guided tours of national laboratories, and presentations will be given.

Bio-Inspired Materials (NCCR)Students will be introduced to soft materials inspired by nature. There are also opportunities to learn and practice French/German skills. Lectures, networking events, and poster sessions will be held.

German DAAD RISEUndergraduates from North American, British, and Irish universities are able to complete a summer research internship at top German universities and research institutions.

Peking-University - UCLA Joint Research Institute Summer Research ProgramUCLA undergraduate and graduate students in the sciences, engineering, and health sciences are eligible to apply for the JRI SRP featuring a 2 week language course in Shanghai followed by 10 weeks of research at Peking University in Beijing, China.
